Cloves, long a monopoly of Portuguese and Dutch companies, mainly grow by the sea. Introduced to Madagascar and Zanzibar in the 18th century, these two places are now important producers. Often used in Europe stuck into the onion for pot-au-feu, cloves are also one of the wonderful spices in chai tea or meat and vegetable broths. Our cloves have beautiful heads, a sign of a perfect clove with intense floral aromas.
