ORANESSENCE - Tonka Beans 55g

The Tonka bean is the seed contained in the fruit of the Brazilian teak tree, which can reach 30m in height and grows in the Caribbean as well as in South America. The seeds are harvested after the fruits dry, which are not picked but fall naturally from the tree when ripe. Rich in coumarin, this substance partly gives it its captivating scent of vanilla and bitter almond. However, it should be used sparingly due to its strong aroma, and also because coumarin can be toxic in high doses. Grated, it flavors creams and pairs wonderfully with chocolate, fruits, maple syrup, sweet potato, and pumpkin.

• Allergens: In our workshop, we handle the following allergens: mustard, sesame, peanut, tree nuts, celery, sulfites (natural presence: garlic, onion, shallot). We take maximum precautions to avoid any cross-contamination. However, traces of contamination may remain.
