Our "fresh" Deglet Nour date from Tolga, the best terroir for this variety, lives up to the legend: that is to say, exceptional!
Deglet Nour means "finger of light": we offer you a very tasty, soft, light, translucent date. You can see the pit in the center of the fruit.
Biofruisec's Extra Selection naturally designates soft dates. We have chosen to make a fruit of the highest quality accessible, never frozen, heated, or exposed to microwaves. Its light color is proof: it is the most authentic expression of this desert treasure.
To achieve this result, a terroir is needed. It is in the heart of Tolga, a region famous for the quality of its dates, that a rigorous selection and demanding agricultural practice combine to produce this luminous fruit.
In May, when the date clusters form on the tree, we cut them in half. A superior size and better fruit are thus guaranteed on the remaining half, which can develop further.
At harvest time, we perform two sorts: the first in the heart of the palm grove to separate the first choice from the rest of the harvest, then a second meticulous sorting in the packing workshop during which each date is inspected and delicately presented in the final packaging.
As a guarantee of seriousness in applying our ethical values, our Algerian date supply chain is certified Organic and Fair Trade "Fair For Life" (standards available at fairforlife.org), all by Ecocert, a recognized French certifier active worldwide for several decades.
Usage advice: Perfect as is, for a healthy and delicious snack, this date will perfectly accompany your salads, pastries, and other culinary preparations!
Storage: We advise professionals to display it in the fresh fruit and vegetable section or dried fruit section, in its original box. Our dates can be kept for a few weeks at room temperature. Stock should be kept cold and dry (1-4°C RH<65%) to preserve all its qualities for several months. Always bring to room temperature before tasting for optimal enjoyment!
