Also called "Sichuan pepper," this berry originates from the Sichuan province in China. Its taste is peppery but its spiciness is milder than black pepper. Its aniseed and lemony flavor enhances white meats, grilled beef cuts, foie gras, vegetables, starches, chocolate desserts, and fruit salads.
