VIVANDERA - Tomate du Piennolo del Vesuvio jaune AOP 580g

Description

Mild flavor, absence of acidity, high vitamin content. Piennolo del Vesuvio PDO is better known as Pizzutello due to its characteristic pointed shape. This is a cherry tomato grown in the Vesuvius National Park, on the slopes of the crater, benefiting from the volcanic soil and all the mineral substances it contains. The name "Piennolo" derives from the traditional preservation technique, according to which the "Piennoli" (whole bunches) of tomatoes, harvested between July and August, are stored in suspension, in dry and ventilated places, so as to give the product its inimitable sweetness and its typical sour aftertaste. Pizzutello is preserved either whole in its natural state, or in the form of "pacchetelle", that is to say cut into fillets and preserved in its own juice in both red and yellow variants.
