Pesto Rosso is an entirely Italian variation of Pesto Genovese with the addition of tomato pulp.
On the eastern Ligurian border, in Castelnuovo Magra (SP), Italpesto has been producing delicious Ligurian pesto for over twenty years, meticulously executing the ancient recipe as well as other regional specialties. Ingredients: Extra virgin olive oil, Basil Genovese D.O.P. 27%, tomato pulp 11%, Grana Padano D.O.P. cheese (milk, salt, rennet, egg lysozyme), pine nuts, salt, acidity regulator: citric acid, antioxidant: ascorbic acid.
